Prof. Dr. Heinz Rögener Foundation

Heinz Rögener held the position of Professor of Thermodynamics at the University of Hanover and Director of the Institute of Thermodynamics from 1967 to 1978. His most significant contribution to the field of energy technology research was the investigation of heat and mass transfer in evaporative cooling, which led to the formulation of key conclusions regarding the design of wet cooling towers, the dispersion of cooling tower plumes, and the implementation and evaluation of acceptance tests on cooling towers.

Heinz Rögener died in 1998, his wife Ingeborg Rögener designated her estate in memory of her husband for the establishment of the "Prof. Dr. Heinz Rögener Foundation".

The aim of the foundation in honor of Prof. Dr. Heinz Rögener is to enable disadvantaged, talented students to study mechanical engineering. Members of the board are Prof. Jörg Seume from the Institute of Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics, Prof. Friedrich Dinkelacker from the Institute of Technical Combustion and Dr. Corinna Neumann from the law firm GÖHMANN Lawyers and Notaries Hanover.

Proposals for suitable scholarship holders are requested by May 15 via the professors of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to the Executive Board, attn. Prof. Dinkelacker, ITV.
